Get In the Holiday Spirit at These Events in Celina, Texas
It's almost December! Who's ready to get into the holiday spirit? No matter what the temperature is outside, the City of Celina offers many events that are sure to make you feel warm inside and appreciate this special time of the year.
Celina Countdown to Christmas (Dec 1 - 24)
This is a 24-day celebration that has a unique event each day for everyone. Activities range from story time with one of Santa's elves to a scavenger hunt on the square. Celina Christmas on the Square (Dec 1)
On Wednesday, December 1, from 5 to 9 pm, Celina will present Christmas on the Square with a candy cane lane theme. They encourage everyone to come dressed in festive clothes. Santa will appear for photos. The event features train rides, bounce houses, holiday performances, and more.
A 30-ft. tree will be lit and there will be displays of live reindeer and lit angel wings. These are perfect photo opportunities. Market and food and beverage vendors will be available for purchase.
Celina Gift Tour (Dec 4)
Go on a Gift Tour in Downtown Celina on the Square to find the perfect gifts as local merchants display their wares for purchase. Attendees with tickets will receive a festive holiday bag with a map of all participating stores. At each store, you'll receive a free gift to fill your bag. Space is limited, so be ready to get your tickets. The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm.
McKinney Home for the Holidays (Nov 26 - 28)
Looking for something to do after Thanksgiving before December? Neighboring city McKinney will have their Home for the Holidays event in Historic Downtown McKinney. The kids can visit Santa and do activities that will be available for children. Shoppers will appreciate the extended shopping hours.
Frisco Frosty 5K (Dec 4)
If you love to exercise or want to work off the Thanksgiving pies, Frisco holds their Frosty 5K at Simpson Plaza in Frisco. Participants receive a long-sleeve shirt, finisher medal, and the first 1,000 registrants will get a fanny pack.
Prosper Light Up the Night!
Light Up the Night! is a contest presented by Prosper Parks and Recreation. It will showcase the best holiday lights and decorations in town. Families who want to tour the lights will receive a map of the entries to drive through and see them in action. Watch the Prosper events page or the Town of Prosper Facebook page for updates.
