October 20, 2021 10:12 am

Fall in Texas is known for a few things: Football, the Texas State Fair, Christmas shopping, and finally some cooler weather! It’s the time of year to get outside and enjoy everything the season has to offer.

For those who live in the North Dallas area, such as Celina, McKinney, and Prosper, there are a multitude of fun activities for the whole family! We’ve rounded up a few events to put on your calendar and get the most out of fall.

Beware! Of the Square: October 23, Downtown Celina
Love Spooky Season? Celina’s Beware! Of the Square is one of the reasons Celina was just named the official Halloween Capital of North Texas! On Saturday, October 23rd, Celina’s Downtown Square will be full of all things spooky including a haunted house, pumpkin painting, trick-or-treating, fair food, carnival rides, psychic readings, and more, and over 70 Halloween vendors. Plus, as a resident of Green Meadows, the best Halloween event around is only a 10-minute drive from home! Come dressed in your Halloween best costume for a night of frightful, family-friendly fun.

Friday Night Market: November 5, Downtown Celina
Get your Christmas shopping done early while supporting local artisans and small businesses! Celina’s Friday Night Market is a monthly open-air market held in Downtown Celina with something for everyone. This event offers a variety of local vendors, ranchers, vineyards, farmers, live music from local performers, and delicious food. Green Meadows residents have it easy with a 10-minute drive to this event as well! Plan ahead by looking at parking options and viewing this month’s vendors on their website. Locals should also note that these events may involve road closures and additional traffic in the surrounding area, so plan accordingly!

Troubadour Festival: November 6, Old Celina Park
Nothing says “Texas” more than a festival of some good ol’ BBQ with live country music! This year is the first-ever Troubadour Festival, featuring Texas country artists like Pat Green and the Josh Abbot Band, alongside 42 of the best BBQ joints in Texas! The event will be at Old Celina Park, which is just an 8-minute drive from Green Meadows. The festival offers three different ticket access options, including VIP, BBQ + Music, and Music tickets. Although the VIP and BBQ + Music tickets are already sold out, there are still Music tickets available as of the time this was written, so get your tickets now!
