Old Celina Park

Old Celina Park is affectionately known as the "Jewel" of the Parks & Recreation Department and is a firm public favorite. This beautiful space includes the following features: 

• Two 12 & under Baseball Fields
• One 13 & up Baseball Field
• One Softball Field
• Large Multipurpose Fields with Soccer Goals & Backstops
• Large Pavilion
• Playground
• Picnic Tables & Charcoal Grills
• Fishing Pond
• Walking Trails

Founder Station Park

A stone's throw away from the Square in Downtown Celina, this cool, shady, and serene park includes a basketball court, tennis court, and brand new pickleball courts! 

It also has a quaint and tranquil playground area with a gazebo and horseshoe pits. It is the perfect place for an afternoon of sports or simply relax and let the kids tire themselves out while you relax under one of the many massive shady trees and unwind. 

 

Youth Sports & Leisure

At Celina Parks & Rec, the name of the game truly is sports & leisure. Keeping true to the "Life Connected" mantra, there is a wide range of organized sports and leisure activities for all ages. Booking details for all activities are available here! 

Let's take a closer look at some of the activities on offer. 

7-on-7 football

The 7-on-7 league football is one of the most popular sports activities, and the Spring League is back with a vengeance in 2022! Divisions include: 

• Rising 5th grade (current 4th graders)
• Rising 6th grade
• Rising 7th grade
• Rising 8th grade
• Rising 9th grade (current 8th graders)

The schedule for 2022 is as follows: 

• 18 March - week 1
• 25 March week 2
• 1 April - week 3
• 8 April - week 4
• 15 April - Break for Easter Weekend
• 22 April - week 5 (if needed based on team count)
• 29 April - finals (all teams make finals day and get two games)
• 5 June - makeup (OR finals part 2 based on team count)

Flag Football

Another favorite, flag football, is loads of fun for all age groups! Check out the details on the Park & Rec page here!

Baseball

The baseball league is super-popular, and the age categories include: 

• T-ball (ages 4-5; first-year players)
• 6u mod coach pitch (ages 4-6; coach pitches 3, then two swings off a tee)
• 8u coach pitch (ages 7-8; either five pitches or three swings, can strikeout, no tee)
• 10u kid pitch (ages 9-10: first year of kid pitch; semi-open bases)
• 12u (ages 11-12; real baseball)
• 14u (60ft pitching, 90 ft bases, metal spikes allowed)
